TEACHING THE HEEL COMMAND WITH THE
E-COLLAR
This area of training in my opinion should be done by a professional trainer. Many people think that having their dog walk at heel with out a leash is a really cool concept. My suggestion is that this level of obedience training should be reserved for advanced level duck dogs, hunt test, and field trial competators. If done correctly your dog will walk at heel for you with out a leash attached and will release from your side when command to do so. But when done improperly most dogs become afraid to leave their handlers side for the fear of being corrected thus having a dog walk next to you or worse behind you when hunting in the field. This problem is refereed to a dog becoming STICKY. This problem is very common with softer and laid back dogs. Dogs with a high prey drive and lots of desire usually overcome this training error. If this level of training is something you may want, seek professional help before you start down this road.
