FORCE FETCHING PART #2
Teaching your dog to hold onto training objects is like teaching him how to grip something with his mouth. holding training bucks, bumpers of different sizes, and game birds is all about grip. Teaching the dog how to grip objects and to hold onto them while walking, running, or swimming is the first step in the force fetch process. a proper ammount of grip is needed for every object he is carrying. big birds need a stronger grip. chewing, chomping, and dropping birds is not accectable. he must hold and carry the bird correctly. When a dog can hold the training tools and the game birds with out dropping them while walking on a leash, running or swimming, he has mastered the hold command.
